Journal Sentinel - Dec. 11, 2000

Eli Fenendael milks 300 cows and is one of four landowners who leased the five acres of land for the wind farm near Rio Creek.
"Fenendael said that despite some complaints, the towers generally are accepted and even attract tourists.
It's just another sign of progress, he said.
"If you go way back, how many guys would have shot the guy with the first car because his horse got scared? If we never would have had cars, where would we be?"

  By Don Behm
of the Journal Sentinel staff -  Dec. 7, 1999
NOTE: This article refers to "the state law requiring utilities to buy energy from so-called renewable sources". If the state law refered to is the Electric Reliability Act of 1998, it defines quite clearly what will qualify as a renewable source.

Opposition asks for ruling on project
(AP) - A citizen group opposed to a proposed $30 million wind farm wants
the Washington County Circuit Court to order the town's zoning administrator
to rule on the project. A Hearing is scheduled for December 14.
     Dec. 3, 1999

NOTE: This article refers to the 500 member Town of Addison Preservation Group. Early in the wind siting process, approximately 500 people signed petitions against the wind farm. Some of those individuals have changed their minds and now support the wind farm. It is misleading to conclude that the Preservation Group has 500 members.
