RENEWABLE ENERGY POSTER SESSION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
RENEWABLE ENERGY SUMMIT • THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2020
In order to highlight promising renewable energy innovations, policies, and practices, RENEW Wisconsin is seeking submissions for the Renewable Energy Poster Session, to take place Thursday, January 16th, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Monona Terrace in Madison, WI. Poster presentations will be part of the 2020 Renewable Energy Summit. No more than 20 posters will be selected for presentation.
Proposal Deadline: November 16, 2019
The audience for this event will include local residents, utility professionals, renewable energy developers, solar installers, manufacturers, students, and elected officials. Presenters should avoid overly technical posters and should seek to communicate to a wide audience.
Renewable Energy Technology – Submissions for this category will be evaluated based on scientific merit, quality of design, and innovation related to renewable energy technologies. Posters related to all types of renewable energy technology will be considered, as well as, storage technologies and electric vehicles.
Energy Analysis and Policy – Submissions for this category may include research in energy resources, markets, public utilities, environment, public health, the energy grid, energy demand and public policy. Submissions will be evaluated on research rigor as well as the potential applicability and value to Wisconsin and Midwest energy dynamics.
Getting to 100 – Submissions for this category should offer solutions and ideas for helping Wisconsin reach the 100% clean energy goal. Submissions should display research and innovation in any relevant area including but not limited to technical, educational, workforce, land use, regulations, communications, energy markets, distributed generation, transmission, storage, utility scale renewables, soft costs, or other solutions that are scalable to support Wisconsin’s clean energy transition. Submissions will be judged on workability and scalability.
Proposals will undergo a blind review process by up to three reviewers. During the review, the committee may request additional information from the presenters and/or may reassign the poster to another category. The poster review committee will communicate their decision to the primary presenter on or before December 7th. It is the responsibility of the primary presenter to communicate this decision to the co-presenters.
Complimentary conference registration will be provided for the first two presenters listed in each accepted proposal.
POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
- Poster presenters will print their own posters. Easels will be provided.
- Useable display area is 46 x 46. We recommend posters be 36 x 46 in either landscape or portrait layout.
- Poster presentations will be most effective if they are organized into clearly defined sections such as title, author, author affiliation, abstract, background, methodology, data, results, conclusion, and references. Exposition posters may include alternate sections such as program or practice description, evidence for the model or practice, and program outcomes.
- Use 16-point lettering or larger for the title, author, and author affiliation.
- As a general rule, the content of the poster should be readable from a distance of five feet. Avoid difficult-to-read fonts.
- Be concise in the presentation of content. Avoid wordy descriptions.
- Design graphs, charts, and tables to show results. Avoid presenting too many variables on a single graph or chart.
- Providing copies of the poster for those in attendance at the poster session of the conference is encouraged.
