The Monona Terrace is an iconic venue, situated on Lake Monona in the heart of downtown Madison. Frank Loyd Wright first designed the building in 1938, and in 1997 the Monona Terrace opened to the public. Monona Terrace stays true to Frank Loyd Wright’s vision of harmony with nature by practicing energy efficiency, offsetting 100% of its energy consumption, reducing landfill waste through composting and recycling, reducing water consumption, and using environmentally safe cleaning products. Together, these practices won the distinction of the US Green Building Council’s LEED Gold Certification. 

There are a limited amount of parking spaces at Monona Terrace and we are likely to run out of spots at some point in the morning. We encourage you to carpool, if possible, and arrive early to allow enough time to find a spot elsewhere in case the lot is full.

We are working hard to minimize the carbon impact of the 2020 Renewable Energy Summit. Monona Terrace purchases Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) for all energy used in the venue. In addition, we are offsetting attendee travel and food carbon impacts through a REC purchase!
