This bitter three-year battle sent shock waves through wind industry.
* Numbers on a sliding scale from 1 to 5, with 1 representing unanimous support and 5 representing effective organized opposition.

and .... the Town of Addison

For over two years, FPL Energy has attempted to site a wind farm in the Town of Addison, near West Bend, Wisconsin, with strong support and equally strong opposition from citizens of the Town of Addison. The local government and plan commission in the Town of Addison struggled to restore civility, after coming to a virtual standstill for most of summer 2001.
The story of this contentious conflict is told through links to newspaper accounts, newsletters from supporters, letters of support, and photos.

Wind Farms
and Sound Decibel Levels

How does the sound from a wind turbine compare to other sounds in our immediate environment?

"Our goal is to place wind generators in a working landscape, in lands used for crop production or pasture. Finding host landowners is not the problem--in fact, there's a lengthy list of landowners eager to situate turbines on their property. "
"...all of Wisconsin's turbines are interconnected at the distribution level, the power stays largely where it's generated..."
